Empress Jito was the third female emperor of the Asuka period.
Her father was Emperor Tenji, and her husband was Emperor Tenmu.
Mt.Ama no Kaguyama is located in Kashihara City, Nara Prefecture. It has been worshiped as a mountain of God since ancient times.
When I read this poem, I come to mind a refreshing scenery of early summer.
